Episode 23 - Heavy Vibrations with Anya Davidson
On this episode of Gutter Boys, we're joined by comic creator and cartoonist Anya Davidson. Based out of Chicago, she's been published by the who's who of small press publishers and has three fantastic books under her belt (Spirit Prison, Band for Life, and Lovers in the Garden). We briefly go over developing news in comics about you-know-what., and answer listener questions delving into her process, her thoughts on the medium, and her experiences teaching at School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In the back half, Anya shares her perspective on what it means to be a cartoonist, her development as a writer and artist, and the reality of impostor syndrome among cartoonists. We also talk music preferences and what we've all been listening to when we do our thing at the drawing desk.
